Health update on Mamata Banerjee: Bengal CM was released and will be under “close care.” She received stitches in her forehead and nose.
Mother Teresa Mamata Banerjee’s condition has been updated by Manimoy Bandyopadhyay, the director of the state-run SSKM hospital. On March 14, Mamata Banerjee fell near her home and wounded her forehead and nose severely “due to some push from behind.”
The SSKM director Bandyopadhyay announced to the media on Thursday that Mamata Banerjee had been released from the hospital following treatment for her injury. Furthermore, he mentioned that the chief minister had a “history of (a) fall within the vicinity of her home due to some push from behind” when she was brought to the hospital.
The medical director of the hospital also disclosed that she had three sutures in her forehead and one in her nose from the doctors.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal arrived at our hospital at 7:30 p.m. today, claiming to have fallen near her residence after being pushed from behind. In addition to a deep gash across her forehead and nose that was gushing blood, she suffered from a cranial concussion, the director reported.
He said, “It was crucial that her vitals be stabilized, therefore she was evaluated by HoD neurosurgery, HoD medicine, and our institute’s cardiologist at first. The necessary dressing was completed, and three sutures were placed to the forehead and one to the nose. A CT scan, ECG, and other tests were performed. The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) said earlier in the day that Mamata Banerjee had suffered a “major injury.” The AITC also released images of Mamata Banerjee taken while she was in the hospital, bleeding profusely from a major cut on her forehead.

She received fast healing wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I hope Mamata Didi recovers quickly and has the best health possible,” PM Modi wrote on X. Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP, posted on X, wishing Mamata-ji courage and a quick recovery.

Hundreds of people had already gathered at the hospital to inquire about the Chief Minister’s health.
Leaders from all political persuasions wished the Chief Minister well. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar reportedly asked about the Chief Minister’s health and conveyed his “deep anguish and wished her speedy recovery,” according to senior Trinamool leader Sukhendu Sekhar Ray. Mr. Dhankhar was the governor of West Bengal before.
Sukanta Majumdar, the president of the state BJP, wished her a quick recovery. He wrote on X, “Our thoughts and prayers are with her for a speedy return to good health.”
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the president of the State Congress, also wished her a speedy recovery.
